Six Nations Success for Old Llandoverians

Congratulations to Old Llandoverians Alun Wyn Jones, Carys Phillips and Corey Baldwin on tremendous performances and success on the first weekend of the 2018 Nat West Six Nations Rugby Championship.

Alun Wyn Jones captained the Welsh side to a scintillating and exciting win over Scotland, final score 34 – 7 at the Principality Stadium. Wales Coach Warren Gatland said of Alun Wyn: “He is going to go down as a legend of the game in Wales. People are going to recognise the contribution he has made to the game and what a competitor he is, how demanding he is of himself and of others.”

Not to be outdone, Carys Phillips captained the Wales Women’s Team to an 18-17 victory over Scotland at Colwyn Bay on the Friday evening. Playing a pivotal role in that win, Carys was named Player of the Match.

Last but not least, Corey Baldwin played a vital role in Wales U20s resounding win 36-3 against Scotland scoring two tries and also being awarded Man of the Match.

Many congratulations to the trio, the Llandovery College family will be eagerly following developments in the Championship over the next weeks.
