            Speech Day and Prize-Giving

            Speech Day and Prize-Giving

The annual Speech Day and Prize-Giving was held on Saturday 25 May 2019. A highlight of the Llandovery College year, this was an opportunity as always to mark and celebrate the many achievements of our pupils.

The College was honoured to welcome two distinguished guests, The Venerable Dorrien Davies, Archdeacon of Carmarthen and Kirsty Williams CBE, Assembly Member and Minister for Education.

The day began with the traditional Service of Praise and Thanksgiving in a packed Llandingat Church during which The Venerable Dorrien Davies delivered his wonderful address which was both meaningful and witty.

At the Speech and Prize-Giving Ceremony, Mr Michael Morgan, Chair of the Governing Body, and Ms Anna Sandford MA, Interim Warden addressed the audience. Guest of Honour, Kirsty Williams CBE then spoke to the pupils and presented the prizes. The ceremony concluded with a Vote of Thanks and heartfelt speeches from both Head Girl Eve Hancock and Head Boy Griffydd Evans.

With the official business of the day concluded there followed a sumptuous lunch in the Great Hall.
