Llandovery College Students Celebrate A Level and BTEC Successes

Llandovery College students are celebrating another year of excellent A Level and BTEC results. Over 40%*(33%) of students secured the much coveted A*-A grades with 13%(12%) achieving an A*. Students, parents and staff are delighted with the overall results which are; A* 13%(12%), A*-A 40%(33%), A*-B 62%(50%), A*-C %86%(76%) and A*-E 100%(97%).

(* Figures in brackets are the comparable 2019 results, the last external examinations.)

Llandovery College Warden, Dominic Findlay, said:

“I am delighted with this year's results.
“Our top performing students gained three A*s, two A*s and an A, one A* and two As. In addition, a host of other students achieved a minimum of two As and, as a result, we have seen our A*-A percentage hit 40%. This is a fantastic achievement, especially when you consider the impact on our students and staff over the past two years of the Covid-19 Pandemic and the national dampening of results across all subjects by the examination boards this year.

“Students have gained places in Russell Group universities and Medical Schools, others in the world of professional sport, whilst some have decided to take up apprenticeship opportunities or delay their entrance to university for a year.

“At such an incredibly important moment for all concerned we wish all our leaving Year 13 students the very best for the future as they take their next step along their future career path.

"Finally, I would like to thank all staff, students and parents for dealing with the past two years of turbulence. Together we have delivered and now our students can go forward with confidence in their next step of education or the world of work."
