            Urdd Regional Eisteddfod

Congratulations to all the pupils who took part in the Urdd Regional Eisteddfod held recently at Ysgol Bro Dinefwr.  In what was the strongest representation by the College for some years, pupils took part in competitions ranging from recitation to group and solo singing. Both boys and girls performed extremely well and with considerable success.

Qualifying for the next round at County level will be the Recitation Group (Welsh Learners) Year 6 and under, the Singing Group (Welsh Learners) Year 6 and under, Folk Song Year 5 and 6, Cerdd Dant Solo Year 5 and 6 and Singing Solo Year 6 and under.

We wish them every success and also those pupils taking part in the Senior Urdd County Round and the Instrumental Competitions yet to be held.

Our thanks to Mrs Sian Price and Mr Wyn Morgan of the Welsh Department and to all the pupils for their hard work and preparation; the Eisteddfod is a great platform for pupils to enjoy performing while learning Welsh.

Llandovery College is delighted at the participation and success of so many pupils at this unique youth festival of literature, music and performing arts, the largest of its kind in Europe. It is particularly exciting looking further forward to 2021 when Llandovery will host its very first National Urdd Eisteddfod.
